At Novak Birch, we work hard and play hard, so we were totally “game” for this fun project for Coca-Cola! We created a playful activation for Coca-Cola’s 40’ x 40’ tent at Taste of DC, the largest culinary festival in the Mid-Atlantic. This sold-out, two-day event was held at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC.
Novak Birch designed, fabricated, and installed an interactive space that welcomed 15,000 Taste of DC attendees. The activation included:
- Oversized Games: We created custom-made, oversized games, including two sets of Jenga with Coke facts on the blocks, as well as Connect Four and Plinko—both with branded game pieces.
- Sampling Counter: We designed and built a branded counter where more than 8,000 Coke samples were distributed.
- Custom Carpet: We designed and fabricated the carpet, including a hand-drawn Coke swoosh that led visitors through the space.
- Branded Backdrop: We created a vibrant backdrop with vinyl logo and color-matched Sintra board.
- Social Media Towers: We designed and built two towers with four 47” monitors displaying Coke promotions.
- Furniture: We customized six cocktail tables with laminated graphics and branded an arrow-shaped welcome desk, directing visitors into the tent. We also managed furniture rentals (including comfortable sofas, chairs, ottomans, and branded pillows, as well as picnic tables, chairs, and umbrellas).
Our design and event skills must pop, because our activation garnered an award from Graphic Design USA’s 2018 POPs, Displays, Signs, & Exhibits category.
